Woodspring House is a Georgian town house of character. It started life as a family house and then in the 20th century had various incarnations as flats and offices until it was converted into a care home in the early 1980’s by the current owners’ parents. At that time the name was changed to Albany House.
Donna and Tim Armitage took over in 1997 and have moved the home forward in many ways, incorporating the adjacent cottages to provide some very homely extra accommodation and more recently refurbishing the whole building to provide ensuites throughout and new accommodation. To mark the end of the refurbishment it was decided to revert to the original name of Woodspring House.
As Tim explained, “Woodspring House was the original name for the house and we have always preferred it to Albany House. With the recent completion of the extensive refurbishment work we felt it was a good time to change the name and mark the start of a new era.”
The values for which Albany House is known and that have enabled it to become so well loved by the residents and families that use it, however, will remain exactly the same under the new name: it’s homely atmosphere, genuinely caring staff and the peace of mind that families have of knowing their relatives are so well cared for.
