15 Mar Coronavirus Update
Dear Friends and Relatives
After much deliberation we have decided today to ask you not to visit the home unless absolutely necessary and not to take your resident out. We are very, very sorry about this as we know it is important for you and your loved one to maintain contact. Under normal circumstances we love having visitors.
Whilst this is still not yet official advice we think that it soon will be, and if we leave it any longer there will be more chance that the virus will get into the home. You will probably have seen some of the very sobering statistics about the effects on the elderly in particular and we believe that the NHS will have to prioritise resources if things get bad as seems likely.
Of course the staff and essential visitors will be still be coming and going and so we cannot eliminate the risk, but we feel we have to do what we can to minimise it.
We will do everything we can to help maintain contact through Skype, facetime, telephone etc. Please let us know if you would like to do any of these things and of course please ring anytime for an update. I am hoping that if we have warm days we can use the garden as a good meeting place. We will also do more in-house activities / entertainment as we are cancelling visiting entertainers.
If you wish to discuss this email or have any concerns at all please don’t hesitate to contact us. We will keep the position under constant review.
